Special Edition
This edition is devoted entirely to Christmas. Included will be the answers from the question a few weeks ago about who's name was pulled out of the hat... and what gift you selected for your member of the Seaview crew...(only received these three) and also there will be two recipes from "Seaview Galley" for this Christmas Season...

Admiral Nelson
Our first response comes from Paulette... who drew Admiral Nelson's name...

I drew Admiral Nelson. My gift would be....er...er.... sorry can't type that... anyway it would be a week-end for two (ME) at a quiet country inn with a pool , hot tub, etc because with all that rocking and rolling, hitting bottom, reactors going wild, he needs a few days of relaxation. (a girl can only dream!)

Chip Morton
Margaret notified my that she had drawn Cmdr. Morton's name... her gift...

My drawn name is Chip Morton and my gift to him would be a 2 week holiday to Disney World so he can let his hair down and be the boy he's never allowed to be usually. It would be great to see him free of responsability just young silly and happy .



Capt. Crane
While I did not receive permission to include this person's name... they had drawn Captain Crane's name from the hat... and while the name has been witheld... you know who you are... and you probably wouldn't be alone in your response... which is...

You wanted to know what I would offer as a gift to the name I drew which in my case was Captain Crane. Well... in this case I'm afraid I am not able to answer you!!!! :-)))))))))

(As the publisher of the Captain's Report... I can tell you that I'm blushing right now... WOW!!!!!)

 

 

SEAVIEW GALLEY
HO HO HO fellow sailors, did anyone try last week's recipe yet?

Since Christmas is here, I thought I would share two recipes this week. First one is for meatballs. Great for snacking or a main meat dish.

Meatballs

  • 2 lb hamburger
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 C bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • salt & pepper
Form into balls - cover and chill

Sauce

  • 1 C catshup
  • 1 C water
  • 1/4 C vinegar
  • 3 TB sugar
  • 2 TB worchestire sauce
Mix and pour over meatballs. Bake at 350 deg for about 1-1/2 hrs.

Seaview Galley 2
The Captain loves this one!

PUMPKIN BREAD

  • 3 C sugar
  • 2 C pumpkin
  • 2/3 C water
  • 2 tsp soda
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 C vinegar
Put in bowl and beat all ingredients well. Line loaf pan with wax paper (cut to size) You will need 4 of them...put 1/4 of batter in each pan. Bake at 350 deg for about one hour.
